What is Tim doing now? (updated November 15, 2024)

November offers the brief window of time where my preferred sports are concurrent. But the life of a Cincinnati sports fan is filled with sorrow. We cheer for FC Cincinnati, and they lose (in miserable fashion) in the first round of the playoffs. The Bengals are a hot mess. The Reds are the (modern) Reds. These are the times when I’m drawn to Dave Winer’s celebration of a “philosophy of baseball” rather than a “philosophy of winning.” Sports teach us to find the joy in the doing.

I’m moving the CCDP site to a new server, so much of my recent free time has been spent learning new Linux flavors and how to upgrade Statamic. Of course, I prefer to spend my weekends in the kitchen. Last weekend I made Kenji’s Lentil and Coconut Soup with Cilantro-Habanero Gremolata Recipe, and—like all of his recipes—it was excellent.

We are also touring preschools for Max. My kid is growing up too quickly.
